The Kinneret Council on Aging, a non-profit agency that provides ongoing programs and services to residents of Kinneret Apartments, has announced the honorees for their 2019, 8 over 80 Gala to be held on Sunday, March 3.

"This is our community's premiere event honoring older adults and we are truly inspired by the number of outstanding individuals, who continue to contribute to our community and promote the Jewish tradition of Tikkun Olam," said Lynn Fenster, 8 over 80 chairwoman. "This event celebrates the spirit of older adults, honoring their lives and respecting their individuality."

The honorees for the 2019 event are: Bruce Burpee, Fayge S. Cohen, Rose Ellen Fenster, Key Howard, Joel Jones, Sonja Marchesano, Sandra Moss and Gilbert Walker

It is a privilege to recognize these amazing and dynamic individuals," said Sharon Weil, director of Programming and Development for the Kinneret Council on Aging. "These are active, inspiring people who continue to live lives of remarkable achievement, vitality and civic engagement."

The 8 over 80 honorary dinner will be held in the Delaney Dining Room at Kinneret Apartments and will benefit the KCOA which provides programs for residents that are not included in the resident's monthly rent. These programs include onsite weekly exercise classes, cultural activities and holiday celebrations as well as excursions including trips to local stores and area restaurants. KCOA also continues to fund the popular monthly food pantry which provides a grocery bag to residents at no cost to them. This program offers an array of healthy foods to residents, many who enjoy cooking their own meals. Currently over 120 residents are participating in this program.

Ticket and sponsorship opportunities are still available. Kinneret Apartments provides affordable, independent senior housing in downtown Orlando.
