The Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando recently hired Rebecca Tregerman as the director of Outreach and Engagement. In that role, Tregerman will oversee the Federation's PJ Library, PJ Our Way and Jewish Teen Education Network programs.  

Tregerman grew up in Kalamazoo, Mich., and fostered her Jewish identity and love for Israel with Young Judaea. After completing her undergraduate studies at Western Michigan University, she worked in public health research and policy in Washington, D.C., for seven years before attending graduate school at the University of Central Florida. 

She received her master's of Health Services Administration in 2017, shortly before having her first child. She and her son spent most days out in the community connecting with other families of young children, which led to her involvement with PJ Library, first as a participant and later as a member of our PJ Library Parent Committee.  

"By utilizing her professional and personal skills, Rebecca will build on the Federation's strong track record of helping young families create meaningful connections to the Jewish community," said JFGO Executive Director Keith Dvorchik.

Tregerman said she is looking forward to creating meaningful connections in the community.

"I approach this opportunity with the goal of reaching individual families, connecting them, and building a strong sense of community that will allow our children to feel confident and proud to be Jewish," Tregerman said. "To be Jewish means there is an obligation to improve the world through social action. I look forward to relationship-building and partnership opportunities to reach this goal."
