Jewish Academy of Orlando enrollment increases 8 percent
September 27, 2019
Jewish Academy of Orlando grows with new students, new teachers, and a new grade level. While most of the growth came in the lower grades, the upper grades showed marked growth as well.
Head of School Alan Rusonik said, "We are grateful for these positive trends and look forward to building on this momentum."
Part of the growth came from the addition of the school's newest grade, Transitional Kindergarten. This inaugural class was welcomed to the school this school year.
Rusonik said, "We are thrilled with the launch of Transitional Kindergarten. Even though it's only been a short time, our parents are thrilled and are already noticing positive changes in their children."
In addition to the new students, the school welcomed three new faculty members; Jessica Landau as the Transitional Kindergarten teacher, Leah Reish in second grade, and Leslie Intro for fifth-grade math.
Rusonik went on to say, "We know that our amazing faculty is a big reason families choose JAO." He added, "Hiring these superstars will help us facilitate even more growth and achieve our goal of educating confident, prepared, and kind students that are poised to change the world."
