November 8, 2019

Kindergarten teacher Andrea Gould enjoys reading to her students.

Jewish Academy of Orlando will hold its annual Scholastic Book Fair from Monday, Nov. 18 through Nov. 22, 2019. The Family Learning Night and Author Event, the school's signature event, will be held Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. and will feature five middle grade and children's authors including:

Peter Raymundo, author of "I Am Not a Fish"; Sherri Winston, author of "President of the Whole Fifth Grade"; Yvonne David, author of "Out of the Apple Orchard"; Pamela Ruben, author of "Could a Penguin be a Mensch?"; and author Briana Gilbert and illustrator Rafael Layish (and JAO alumnus) who collaborated on "Hidden Wings of the Time Keeper."

"Once again, we are delighted to have each author conduct a special activity, including our back-by-popular demand illustration session hosted by Peter Raymundo.  It will be an entertaining evening for the entire family," stated Lanie Reisman, school librarian. "We are especially honored to feature our very own alumnus and illustrator Rafael Layish."

Family night and the rest of the book fair is open to the community.  Everyone is invited to shop the book fair all week between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
