CRJ presents Legacy Letters Workshop with Leah Dobkin

February 21, 2020

Mark your calendar to participate in a free, unique “Legacy Letters Workshop” led by nationally known freelance writer, speaker, author, and inspiring presenter Leah Dobkin on Sunday, March 1, starting at 1 p.m. at Congregation of Reform Judaism.

Dobkin has over 30 years of experience writing, developing, and managing innovative programs, and consulting with nonprofit and for-profit organizations and government agencies. During the Legacy Letters Workshop, Dobkin will guide participants in the creative process to write a heartfelt legacy letter or heirloom book for their loved ones. She promises a fun, creative, positive, and healing program resulting in a most cherished keepsake.

A “legacy letter” is the revival of an old art form, letter writing. A legacy letter is a loving document, book, and/or recording that translates your personal and family stories, experiences, and values into life lessons that inform and transform the younger generation and strengthens ties between generations. It also expresses hopes, blessings, explanations, forgiveness, and gratitude. The process is an excellent opportunity for self-examination, which may result in improved spiritual, emotional, and physical health. It may also bring a new sense of life purpose or reinvigorate an existing purpose.

The Legacy Letters Workshop is being sponsored by CRJ’s Sisterhood, Brotherhood, and Chai’er Learning. For more information and to register for the workshop, please visit crjorlando.org/event/legacy_letters. The workshop will run from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. There is no cost to attend. The event is open to the public. Congregation of Reform Judaism is located at 928 Malone Dr., Orlando, 32810, and the phone number is 407-645-0444.
