2020 CUFI annual summit to be held virtually

(JNS)—Christians United for Israel, the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, announced that its 2020 Washington summit will be held virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The announcement comes on the heels of the Washington Convention Center communicating to CUFI that the event, scheduled for June 28-30, cannot be held at that location due to efforts to utilize the convention center for virus purposes.

The CUFI Virtual Summit will be held on the same dates as originally scheduled.

“We have said from the very beginning of this pandemic that the safety and well-being of our members, staff and the community at large is our top priority,” said CUFI founder and chairman John Hagee. “By holding our summit virtually, we will ensure the health and safety of all participants, and still ensure our members hear directly from top leaders and experts on the issues that matter to CUFI.”

He added that “like the rest of the country, we must adapt to the present circumstances while still moving forward. This virtual summit is unprecedented, but we are up to the challenge. I have every confidence that this will be our finest hour, and that we will still be able to deliver our strong, unwavering pro-Israel message to our elected officials.”

“Nothing can replace bringing thousands of Christian supporters of Israel to our nation’s capital, but we can come very close,” acknowledged CUFI co-executive director Shari Dollinger. “In the coming days, we’ll be releasing the schedule of our virtual summit, concluding, as always, with a digital advocacy effort aimed at advancing specific pro-Israel policies.”
