Diana Katz-Recu, age 87, of Orlando, passed away peacefully at Cornerstone Hospice at ORMC on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. She was born on Jan. 13, 1933, in Newark, New Jersey, to the late Alan and Gertrude Zimmerman Kassoy.

A graduate of Hunter College, she was an Early Childhood educator for many years. She and her late first husband, Jerome Katz, relocated to the Orlando area from West Orange, New Jersey, in 1988. There were members of Southwest Orlando Jewish Congregation. Following the death of Mr. Katz in 2002, she was married briefly to Max “Mel” Recu, who passed away in 2004.

Mrs. Katz-Recu is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Gary) Kaufman of Stuart, Fla .; and her son, Theodore (Mary) Katz of Rockaway, New Jersey; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
