Volunteers fill and deliver gift bags to senior residents

October 2, 2020

With the help of Cantor Nina Fine, children created High Holiday cards for senior residents.

The Jewish Pavilion's Cantor Nina Fine and volunteer Sandi Trainor deliver Rosh Hashanah bags to Jewish residents at Lutheran Towers, Westminster, and Kinneret. The bags were lovingly assembled by the Jewish Pavilion's dedicated volunteers and contained an individual round raisin challah, grape juice, honey, a calendar, a holiday service guide and more. Cantor Fine added a special holiday card made by Jewish children she works with and she was able to distribute 40 cards to the seniors.

The High Holiday gift bags.

The special bags were very much appreciated by the seniors who made comments like, "you just don't know how much it means to us to be remembered like this".

Cantor Fine also recorded some of the Shabbat services and talent shares that she did over Zoom for the Pavilion this summer and sent them to the buildings to share with residents. Many children participated in the talent shares to help bring cheer to the residents with their talents including singing, piano playing, cheer routines and gymnastics, and even joke telling.

If you would like to get involved in bringing cheer to isolated seniors, please contact The Jewish Pavilion at 407-678-9363 or www.jewishpavilion.org. The Jewish Pavilion is also on Facebook.
