It's time to light up the Chanukiah!

Chabad of Greater Orlando is hosting several Chanukiot lightings around town. Chabad and The Roth Family JCC will kick off the holiday by lighting a menorah in front of the JCC building at 5:15 p.m. on Dec. 10. Every event will include music, dancing, donuts, Kids Krafts (children will enjoy decorating their own Chanukah-themed pre-wraped cookies) and the Rabbi’s message about Chanukah.

The main event will be on Sunday, Dec. 13, 5:30 p.m. Join together with Chabad at the Walt Disney Amphitheater in Lake Eola Park for an evening of music, Hasidic dancers and fire works.

The following dates and times for lightings around town are:

Monday, Dec. 14, 5:15 p.m. — Oviedo lighting at Center Lake Park on Mitchell Hammock and Oviedo Blvd.

Tuesday, Dec. 15, 5:15 p.m. — Casselberry City Hall, off of 17/92.

Thursday, Dec. 17, 5:15 p.m. — Central Park on Park Ave. in Winter Park. There will also be a video showing about the story of Chanukah.

In addition to the Chanukiot lightings, PJ Library is hosting a Zoom event for children with story telling and menorah lighting on the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando’s Facebook page on Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to tune in.
