RAISE partners with Amazon and begins expansion to South Orlando and beyond

Founder and Director Loren London and Director of Employment and Education Rachel Slavkin have been busy during these summer months promoting RAISE (Recognizing Abilities and Inclusion of Special Employees). They are actively expanding to South Orlando this year and look forward to having a RAISE presence there soon.

The expansion is not only to South Orlando. They are continuing to launch ‘RAISE on the Road’ in order to replicate the RAISE program model in other Jewish communities. London and Slavkin have met with leaders in interested cities throughout the summer and hope to be selecting the first pilot site with an anticipated launch in 2023.

To top this all off, Slavkin was excited to share that Amazon recently reached out and invited RAISE to be a community partner.  London and Slavkin met with representatives from their People with Disabilities Department, took a tour of the Amazon facility and had a personalized presentation for RAISE families and alumni. Now future RAISE graduates have an opportunity to be employed at Amazon — a giant plus for the RAISE program.

In order to bring RAISE to the South Orlando Jewish community, they need volunteer job coaches as well as applicants for the program. If you would like the opportunity to volunteer as a RAISE job coach in South Orlando or would like more information about the program, please visit http://www.jfgo.org/raise or call 407-645-5933, ext. 236.
