Obituary - GERRI KILBER

Gerri Kilberg, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away on April 25, 2023, at the age of 98, in Orlando, Florida, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Philadelphia, Gerri lived through the Great Depression and was a product of that era. At the age of 24, she married the love of her life, Milton Kilberg, with whom she shared 70 years of marriage before his passing in 2019. Together, they had one daughter, Dr. Ilene Wilkins, and seven grandchildren, including Ray Deveau, Christine Wilkins, Shawn Wilkins, Bradford Wilkins (Marissa), Brie Wilkins, Brandon "Jake" Wilkins (Sarah), and Truman Wilkins. Gerri was also blessed with 13 great-grandchildren, including Alec Deveau, Jonah Wilkins, Gabi Wilkins, Jacob Ramos, Madeline Ramos, Joshua Doane, Miranda Freitas, Emmy Moura, Devin Deveau, Jacqueline Deveau, Haley Deveau, Connor Deveau, and Summer Deveau.

Gerri was known as a firecracker with a vivacious personality and natural storytelling abilities, which could light up any room or engage with any stranger. She was a strong-willed individual who took pride in understanding both sides of an issue, even when holding strong opinions herself.

Gerri was a dedicated worker and remained part of the workforce for over 73 years before retiring in 2021 from UCP of Central Florida at the age of 86. Her life philosophy was inspired by Scarlett O'Hara, as she believed that "tomorrow's another day," and that tomorrow would always be better than today. Gerri's resilience, love for her family, and dedication to her work will be remembered by all who knew her.

Graveside Services were held at the Pavilion of Congregation Ohev Shalom Cemetery with Rabbi Arnold Siegel of Jewish Family Services officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to UCP of Central Florida to the Brie Wilkins Memorial Scholarship Fund http://weblink.donorperfect.com/InMemoryofGerriKilberg.

Gerri Kilberg will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and her legacy will live on through the memories she created with those who knew her.  May she rest in peace and may her memory be a blessing.

Service entrusted to Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel, 933 Lee Road, Suite 101, Orlando, Florida 407-599-1180.
