Obituary - LOTTIE M. COHEN

Lottie M. Cohen, age 98, passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on July 15, 2023. Lottie was born in Moers, Germany, the daughter of the late William S. and Antonie (Lowenstein) Meyer. Lottie, along with her brother Steven and parents, came to the United States in the late 1930s. She was a graduate of Washington Heights High School and became a dental hygienist soon thereafter.

In February 1948, Lottie married Lynn M. Cohen. They were together for more than 71 years until Lynn’s passing in October 2019. Lottie was a member of Congregation Ohev Shalom. She also was an active volunteer for Orlando Health for more than 60 consecutive years, serving as the 25th president of the Orange Memorial Hospital Auxiliary (Pink Ladies). Lottie was an active member of the Central Florida African Violet Society and the Central Florida Stamp Club.

Lottie is survived by her sons Richard (Es) Cohen and Russell Cohen; grandchildren — Lori Cohen, Andrew (Raechel) Cohen, Autumn (Christopher) Bendall, Justin (Sara) Presser, Matthew (Justine) Presser; and four great-grandchildren — Caleb Presser, Sloane Presser, Micah Cohen, and Harlow Presser.

Graveside Services were held in the Pavilion of Congregation Ohev Shalom Cemetery (6034 Old Winter Garden Road, Orlando 32834) with Rabbi Geoffrey Spector officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Lottie M Cohen to Orlando Health Foundation or Congregation Ohev Shalom. May she rest in peace and may her memory always be a blessing.
