In support of Head & Neck Cancer Awareness month, Jason Mendelsohn has announced the second annual Raise Your Glass event is taking place on Sunday, April 7, 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., at Mercedes-Benz of Orlando in Maitland, located at 810 N Orlando Ave.
Mendelsohn is a survivor of HPV-related tonsil cancer, and his cancer story has been shared in over 100 countries. Most recently, he shared his story as part of a virtual Congressional Briefing to support the Prevent HPV Cancer Act. As well, he served on the executive board of the Head & Neck Cancer Alliance, and back in 2017 he appeared on NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt.
Thanks to Candy Wraps Orlando Mendelsohn shared they are once again wrapping a Mercedes-Benz with the names of cancer survivors, patients, and caregivers from all cancer types in order to honor them.
"I am driven to share my story to save lives," Mendelsohn said. "Back in 2014, I found a small bump on my neck that appeared out of nowhere, and with no other symptoms, I learned that I had stage IV HPV-related tonsil cancer. Shortly after surgery and beginning chemo and radiation, I made videos to our three kids saying goodbye. Those videos went something like this, 'One day you're going to get married, I'm not going to be there, this is what's important.' After beating cancer I vowed to share my story often to save lives, so other parents wouldn't have to make similar videos to their kids."

The Head and Neck Cancer Alliance has a mission to advance the prevention, detection, treatment, and rehabilitation of oral, head, and neck cancer through public awareness, research, advocacy, and survivorship.
All proceeds from this event will go to Head and Neck Cancer Alliance programs, including our Gas Card, Screening, Peer-to-Peer, and Ambassador programs, including patient education and research.
