She wants to lead the glamorous life
She don’t need a man’s touch

But without love, it ain’t much
The song describes the lady wearing a mink fur coat and driving a Mercedes Benz car. It is about materialism. Materialism = glamour.
That is what the message was in 1980s America. That was society’s message.
The movies, the music, the television shows, that is what we saw and that was our aim, our goal.
