A new synagogue in DeLand

A new teaching and religious organization was recently incorporated in DeLand, Fla. The nonprofit is called The Center for Jewish Discovery of Central Florida, and was developed by Rabbi Michael Asher, who was ordained in June 2025 by the Jewish Spiritual Leadership Institute.

A kickoff Shabbat dinner was held in early September with nearly 30 people attending.
