Obituary-Burton Lawrence Lieberman

Burton Lawrence Lieberman, affectionately known to his grandchildren as "Puppy," passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, at the age of 100 years and 3 months.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1926, Burton was preceded in death by his parents, Manny and Dina (Rogow) Lieberman; his beloved wife, Barbara (Bluestone) Lieberman, who passed away in 2003; and his sisters, Greta Katz and Marilyn Schwartz.

Burton proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. He especially enjoyed sharing stories from his year stationed in Japan, where he was assigned "light duty" entertaining fellow servicemen.

He spent much of his professional life in sales and continued working well into his later years, motivated by his love of staying active and connecting with people. A gifted storyteller with a warm and welcoming spirit, Burton had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel comfortable and valued. He was a true gentleman and a mensch - kind-hearted, generous, honorable, humble, and deeply respected by all who knew him.

Burton approached life with optimism, curiosity, and gratitude. To him, every day was an adventure, and he embraced new experiences with enthusiasm and joy. His warmth, humor, and unmistakable presence left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

He is survived by his children - Judith Foner, Marc Lieberman, Howard Lieberman, and Sharon Cudaback; his grandchildren - Eli Foner (Katheryn), Samuel Foner (Frances), Max Foner (Tiffany), Neila Lieberman, and Jaime Lieberman; and his great-grandchildren - Natalie Winland and Ethan Winland.

Graveside services were held at Woodlawn Cemetery Gotha, Fl.
