Obituary - JULIE APPELBAUM MORSE

Julie Appelbaum Morse, born June 26, 1967, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Her passing leaves a profound ache in the hearts of all who loved her, and a bright, colorful spirit gone far too soon. Despite never having smoked a day in her life, it was lung cancer that took her from us.

Julie is survived by her devoted parents, Dick and Dottie Appelbaum; her twin sister, Jill Small (Jayson); and her older sister, Alison Polejes (Craig). She leaves behind her beloved children, Kaitlyn Brown (Hunter) and Ryan Morse (Lindsay), who were the center of her world. Earlier this year, she became a Bubbe to her precious Clara Rose — a joy that lit her from within. Julie is also survived by her two nieces, Carly and Brea Polejes and two nephews, Brandon and Alec Small, all of whom adored their Aunt Julie.

For the last three years, Julie devoted her life to caring for her aging parents — a gift of love, sacrifice, and loyalty that defined her character. She gave without hesitation and with a tenderness that will never be forgotten.

Julie spent many years working at the library, where she became a beloved presence to her patrons. They knew her for her kindness, her patience, and the way she made everyone feel welcome. Many remembered her for her unmistakable fashion sense — bright colors, sparkle, and joy woven into every outfit. She brought light into the world simply by being herself.

The beach was Julie’s happy place. It was where she felt most at peace. She loved walking along the shoreline, reading outside with the ocean stretched before her, and watching for the sea turtles she adored. Julie was at the beach when she passed, in the place she loved most, and it is where she wished for her ashes to be spread — returning her to the rhythm, beauty, and serenity that brought her so much joy.

Julie lived with tenderness, quiet courage, and a love that radiated outward. She will be remembered for her spirit, her devotion to family, her kindness to strangers, and the way she made the world brighter simply by being in it. Her memory will live on in her children, in little Clara Rose, in the family she cherished, and in every life she touched.

A private family ceremony will be held at the beach next month, in accordance with Julie’s wishes.

The family asks that donations be made to the Sea Turtle Conservancy at conserveturtles.org, in memory of Julie Appelbaum Morse — supporting the sea turtles she loved so dearly.
