    Melanie K. Jackson, age 69, of Winter Springs, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at South Seminole Hospital in Longwood. A native of Brooklyn, New York, she was born on Oct. 27, 1947, to the late Jack and Anne Axman Ebers. A homemaker in Oviedo, she married her husband, Jerry Jackson, on Dec. 4, 1991. Melanie and her family relocated to the Orlando area from Long Island in 1981, and were long-time members of Congregation Beth Am.     Aaron Luft, age 96, of Orlando, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, at his home. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, on March 10, 1920, to the late Kalman and Yetta Horn Luft. A high school graduate, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and had a career as a roofer, relocating to the Orlando area in the 1980s. He is survived by his wife of nearly 71 years, Sarah; and his daughters, Arlene (Marc) Koondel of Boynton Beach, and Caren (Larry) Poster of San Diego. He is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.... Full story

    Norman J Steinhart, age 92, of Longwood, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs. Mr. Steinhart was born in Buffalo, New York, on Oct. 9, 1924, to the late Charles and Ethel Hyman Steinhart. Following high school, Norman served in the 464th Fighter Squadron during World War II in Asia. He saw action in Japan, China and the Ryukyu Islands earning, among others, the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon with three Bronze Stars.
