Born on Feb. 24, 1923, in Frankfurt, Germany, to the late Frederick and Hedwig Wohlfart Schott, he attended grade school there. In 1938, at the age of 15, he left Germany and went to London, living there for six months. From England he moved to the Philippines where he lived for the next 18 months before being able to enter the United States through Portland, Ore., and settling in Cincinnati. Rita B. Shore of Champions Gate died on Saturday, July 13, at her residence. She was 88 years old. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., she was born on March 15, 1925, to the late George and Rose Metzger Bernstein. A graduate of Erasmus High School she was voted “Miss Subway” for New York. She moved from New York to Miami Beach with her young son, Ron, in the middle 1950s. She grew up in a theater family where her relatives starred in the Jewish vaudeville circuit. Dorothy Yesser of Deltona died Thursday, July 11. She was 89 years old. Born in New Haven, Conn., on Sept. 26, 1923, to the late Jack and Shirley Greenberg Small, she was the widow of the late Hyman Yesser to whom she was married for more than 57 years when he passed away in 2003. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was a Florida winter resident from Harrisburg, Pa., for more than 40 years, moving to the Deltona area in 2004. A native of New Rochelle, N.Y., she was born on Aug. 1, 1936 to the late Frank and Phyllis Fox Eggers. Gladys “Hap” Leckart, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013. She was 91 years old. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on February 22, 1922, she moved to Norfolk, Va. and then to Miami Beach. A survivor of the Shoah, he was born in Romania on Feb. 9, 1933 to the late David Sacagiu and Chaya Birenbaum Sacagiu.
