Alvin M. Sarnoff, DDS, age 93, of Longwood, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs. Sawyer, who changed her name from Rosie Cohen, was considered the oldest working actress in Hollywood and oldest member of the Screen Actors Guild and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at the time of her death. Appelfeld, a Holocaust survivor, died early Thursday. He was 85. His most recent book was published three months ago; his books were translated into many languages.
