Ira W. Waldinger, age 68, of Winter Garden, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, at Orlando Regional Medical Center. A Brooklyn native, he was born on Feb. 21, 1951, to the late Martin and Esther Dobrow Waldinger. He was a graduate of Hunter College and worked as an educator with children with special needs. On Sept. 16, 1984, in Hastings-on-Hudson, he married the former Amy Abramson, his wife of more than 34 years who survives him. The St. Augustine Jewish Historical Society is mourning the Feb. 16, 2019, death of Al Vorspan, a giant in the movement for Social Justice among Reform Jews. He was 95. Vorspan was arrested here in St. Augustine, Florida along with 16 rabbis making for the largest mass arrest of rabbis in U.S. history. Submitted by the family Marvin Mandell, 92, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019. He lived a great and healthy life that was filled with lots of love and laughter from his family and friends. He never stopped joking. Marvin was born Aug. 10, 1928.
