A little known service that is offered by Jewish Family Services is the RIDE program. Through its partnership with ITN and Mears, JFS provides free roundtrip transportation for qualified senior citizens or disabled adults who need a ride to and from any medically related appointment. More than 300 people filled the Temple Beth-El for the 31st annual communitywide Sabbath service. Most of the other synagogues were closed and the congregants all came together to pray as one. The Social Justice subcommittee of the JCRC has designated this year's focus to the growing issue of hunger, especially here in Central Florida.
