Obituary - ALLAN STEINMAN

 


Allan Steinman of Altamonte Springs, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014, at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs. He was 90 years old. Mr. Steinman was born in Brooklyn, on April 6, 1923, to the late Samuel and Sarah Schweidel Steinman.

Following high school he entered the U.S. Army, serving during World War II, and was married to the former Florence Liebman for 55 years, when she passed away in March 2000. Mr. Steinman was a noted condominium developer, retiring to Central Florida from California in 1989. However, it was after retirement and during the years he spent as editor and owner of the “Condominium Times” where he became known and respected as an expert in condominium law.

Mr. Steinman is survived by his son, Clay (Lynn) Steinman of Minnesota; daughter, Sandee (Michael) Nebel of Winter Park; four grandchildren; and five nephews and nieces. In addition to his wife, Mr. Steinman was predeceased by his three brothers.


Graveside funeral services, with military honors, were held at Congregation of Reform Judaism Cemetery with Rabbi Arnold Siegel officiating. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the White Picket Fence Foundation, Inc., 1836 Jewell Ave, Winter Park 32789—a 501C3 not-for-profit which provides low-fee counseling and free support groups for eating and weight disorders.
