Ivan H. Echelson of Winter Park, passed away on Thursday, April 24, at Winter Park Health and Rehabilitation Center in Winter Park. He was 83 years old. Mr. Echelson was born on Feb. 2, 1931, in New York to the late Morris and Rachel Fenster Echelson. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving for three years. After his separation from the Air Force, he went to college earning a degree in accounting and became a certified public accountant.

In 1958, he married the former Ruth Gorfain, his wife of more than 55 years who survives him. They relocated to the Orlando area from Palm Beach in 2000.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Steven (Brenda) of Lake Mary; and daughters, Leslie (William) Boyce of North Palm Beach, Judy (Todd) Peterson of Marietta, Ga., and Cynthia Echelson of Atlanta, Ga.; and eight grandchildren.
