Two world-class Birders, Dan Alon and Noam Weiss, will be coming to Maitland from Israel on Monday, May 4, on their way to participating in the Cape May, New Jersey, Audubon World Series of Birding event where they came in first place last year for the most bird species counted in Cape May county.

This event is sponsored by the Women's Division of the Jewish National Fund and will start with a Bird Walk at the Maitland Community Park at 1400 Mayo Avenue in Maitland at 5:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., there will be a formal presentation at the JCC at 851 North Maitland Avenue on restoration efforts in the Great Rift Valley, which originally ran from Lebanon to Mozambique, but now is generally known as the area along the east coast of Africa to Mozambique.

"I will again get to bird with Dan Alon, whom I first met when I went to Israel in March of 2010 for JNF's first Birding Mission, said Shari Yudenfreund-Sujka. "Dan is known for his restoration efforts in the Hula Valley.  Joining him will be Noam Weiss.

The event would be a wonderful opportunity for first-time birding, and is free and open to the public. For more information, call 407-628-6444.
