Obituary - RUBY GLORIA STEINFELD

 


Ruby Gloria Steinfeld (Nee Eisner)of Orlando, passed away on Sept. 4th, 2015, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s at the Hunters Creek Nursing Home. She was born on Jan. 7, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Louis and Rose Eisner. She grew up in Dover, N.J., and was a graduate of Dover High School. She is also a graduate of New Jersey State Teachers College and then began her long rewarding career as a kindergarten teacher at the Franklin School in Succasunna, N.J. She retired in 1993 from the Roxbury Board of Education. Upon retiring, Mrs. Steinfeld moved to Orlando, where she spent the next several years as a substitute teacher at Hunters Creek Elementary School.

Mrs. Steinfeld is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Gerald; three sons, Scott (Hildy Winter) of Orlando, Allen (Loreen) of Sarasota, Florida, and Robert (Dean Hanson) of Tampa, Florida. She is also survived by her three grandchildren whom she adored, Richard, Connor and Kevin.


Mrs. Steinfeld, also known as Rubela and Ruby-Doobie, was well loved by all of her family and friends because of her gentle, loving and kind heart. She always put others before herself and always enjoyed making her house into a home by entertaining others. Mrs. Steinfeld loved everyone that she met and everyone she met loved her. She had a wonderful sense of humor all the way to the end and was very popular amongst her care-givers because they never knew what she would say next.

In addition, to her passion and love for teaching she greatly enjoyed the time she spent with her family as well as travel, theater, music and attending temple services.
