Community study ready for review

Last year about this time, The Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando began The Central Florida Jewish Community Study, conducted by the Cohen Center for Modern Jewish Studies at Brandeis University with the assistance of UNH Survey Center. The Cohen Center is one of the most reknowned research organizations in the Jewish community.

Keith Dvorchik, CEO of the Federation, shared with Heritage that the 104-page study has a lot of information for our community - which has grown to about 51,400 people. "[The study] is pretty darn accurate. It will give us a roadmap as a community as to where the opportunities are."

Although the study isn't ready for public distribution yet, Dvorchik said a 20-page summary will be available soon and a meeting (virtual and in-person) will be held to discuss the outcome of the study on Dec. 12, 7 p.m., at The Roth Family JCC and on Dec. 13, 7 p.m., at the Rosen JCC.

The presentation will be led by Leonard Saxe, director of the Cohen Center for Modern Jewish Studies.

The in-person meeting will be limited to 100 people and those who wish to attend can register for both the in-person and virtual on the Federation's website, orlandojewishfed.org.
