Message to the Jewish community

I am reaching out to let you know that we are aware of the recent activity of antisemitic groups operating in and around the Orlando area. We are in contact with law enforcement and our local, state and federal legislators.

White supremacy and all acts of hate have no place in our community, and it is simply unacceptable. We are encouraged that people from all walks of life across this great city of Orlando and the United States of America are speaking up and fighting hate, standing up to promote tolerance, peace, and inclusion across our communities. Often, when hate acts like this flare up, good people rise up against it — often in greater numbers and with stronger voices.

Please know that we continue to proactively work with our local, county, state, and national law enforcement partners.

Shalom Orlando, home of The Roth Family JCC, remains committed to providing a hate-free space. An informed and unified community is the best defense against hate, so we are asking, please be aware of your surroundings and do not engage if you come across individuals or groups looking to provoke you. If you see something, say something. Call law enforcement immediately as they are ready to address acts of intimidation.

Together we will overcome acts of hatred with acts of love and unity.
