Community members often wonder where they can find the Jewish Pavilion, an outreach organization and a 501 (c) 3 non-profit, that has been putting smiles on the faces of seniors of all faiths in elder facilities throughout Greater Orlando since 1998. The Confirmation Class of Congregation Sinai built a sukkah to celebrate the holiday of Sukkot. Decorations for the sukkah were made by children of the Religious School ages 5-12. Flowers, fruits, and Hebrew letters were placed in the sukkah to remind us of the Harvest. The students at the Jewish Academy of Orlando walked to Lake Lily in the week between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur to participate in Tashlich service. A world-wide registry of sukkahs has been set up, and is listed online at www.localsukkah.org. The directory has been designed for Jews to locate a sukkah near to them, so that they can go there to eat. The idea of this service is not to list every sukkah, but to try and have a sukkah listed for every area in which Jewish people may find themselves during Sukkos.
