    The Jack and Lee Rosen Jewish Community Center, Inc., is now officially a legal entity of its own. This marks a change in direction from the Roth Family JCC of Greater Orlando and a renewed focus on Southwest Orlando. Their story began in 1994 when the JCC of Greater Orlando (JCCGO) opened an Early Childhood Learning Center on property belonging to the Southwest Orlando Jewish Congregation.     The second grade students at the Jewish Academy of Orlando recently hosted a dinosaur museum. The second grade students acted as docents and escorted parents, grandparents and siblings around a variety of projects and experiments that were covered in their recent unit on dinosaurs. The museum, designed with a variety or visual displays and hands-on projects, included experiments on the effects of erosion and abrasion, fossils and so much more. Titled “Take a Swing for Education,” this golf classic’s proceeds will go toward academic programming and the scholarship fund.     Scouts from all over Central Florida attended Scout Shabbat on Feb. 13. This successful event was sponsored by Troop 641 of Maitland.     The students at the Jewish Academy of Orlando recently presented their Rube Goldberg projects. A Rube Goldberg project challenges participants to make a complicated machine perform a simple task. The projects were designed to use common household items in nontraditional manners. To complete these projects the students were placed into groups to create their own machine.
