Obituary - LOUISE WAGMAN BLAU

 


Louise Wagman Blau of Altamonte Springs, passed away in the early morning hours of Sept. 9, 2013. She was 75 years old. Mrs. Blau passed away suddenly from complications following a heart attack while being visited and comforted by family at Florida Hospital Altamonte.

Mrs. Blau was a resident of Altamonte Springs for more than 40 years. She worked for Seminole County Public Schools for 25 years and dedicated her professional career to helping students with speech and language disabilities. In retirement, she was a committed volunteer at Seminole County Legal Aid and the Orange County Courthouse. She also participated in a book club, an investment club, a bridge group, and was active in continuing education at LIFE@UCF.

Mrs. Blau was a devotee of exercise, and particularly enjoyed boxing. She was an avid traveler, having been to all seven continents and more than 100 countries. She became an accomplished award-winning photographer with unique shots from around the world.


Mrs. Blau’s greatest joy was her family, and is survived by her husband Burton; her children Traci, Gary (Gwenn); and her grandchildren Jennifer (Riley), Andrew (Kristina), Lauren and Mitchell.

A Celebration of Life was held at Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel with Rabbi Rick Sherwin officiating. In her memory, the family requests contributions be made to the Marvin Friedman Scholarship Fund at the JCC, 851 N. Maitland Ave., 32751. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel, Orlando.
