“Battle of Broadway,” a benefit concert for Youth Theatre at The Rosen JCC’s Theatre South Orlando will be held Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Theatre South Orlando, located at the Rosen JCC, 11184 S. The students at the Jewish Academy of Orlando walked to Lake Lily in the week between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur to participate in Tashlich service. At Tashlich, the students symbolically threw away their misdeeds to begin the New Year renewed. The Kinneret senior residents are hosting a flea market Friday and Saturday, Oct. 2nd & 3rd from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. A world-wide registry of sukkahs has been set up, and is listed online at www.localsukkah.org. The directory has been designed for Jews to locate a sukkah near to them, so that they can go there to eat. The idea of this service is not to list every sukkah, but to try and have a sukkah listed for every area in which Jewish people may find themselves during Sukkos. When Tony Ruben joined Orlando's first pinball league this past summer, it never occurred to him that he might emerge as one of its champions. This is a six-week program beginning Wednesday, Oct. 7 from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m., and continuing on Oct. 14, 21, 28, Nov. 4 and 11. More than 40 moms, dads and children turned out on Sunday, Aug. 30, to celebrate Rosh Hashanah at Lukas Nursery and Butterfly Encounter in Oviedo.
