The need was evident. When looking for a grief support group, every group listed was held at a church. If you are Jewish, churches are not necessarily comfortable surroundings. Jewish Academy of Orlando second-graders raised funds in the grade's annual Fun Run to benefit a Habitat for Humanity house. The Kobrin Family created the Kobrin Family Scholarship in 1990 to be awarded to a qualified, full-time student of the Jewish faith from Orange, Osceola or Seminole County who will be attending the University of Central Florida. The scholarship is available in the amount of $2,500 per year for a maximum of four (4) years. The TAP program adjusts tuition based on a family’s income for new students in grades TK-5th. TAP is designed to boost enrollment of new students by specifically targeting middle-income families.
