Geraldine “Geri” Halperin Harris, age 88, of Northport, Alabama, passed away at the Huntercreek Nursing and Rehab Center in Northport on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015. Mrs. Harris was born in Dublin, Georgia, on Oct. 24, 1926, to the late Philip and Celia Greenberg Halperin. Myrna Lighterman, age 85, of Sanford, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015. A native of New York City, she was born on May 11, 1930, to the late Harold and Eve Merzon Winniman. Ruby Gloria Steinfeld (Nee Eisner)of Orlando, passed away on Sept. 4th, 2015, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s at the Hunters Creek Nursing Home. Irving Yousha, born Sept. 7, 1933 in Rockaway Beach, N.Y., died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, in Winter Park, Fla. He was 81 years old. Scott Alan Friedman, better know as Scott McKenzie for most of his radio career, died on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, after a 7-year battle with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. He was 59 years old. Joseph Gliksman, 68, of Deltona, passed away at his home on Monday, July 27, 2015. Born in Lodz, Poland to Holocaust survivors, Abraham and Sabina Gliksman, the family emigrated to North America in 1957 when he was 10; landed in Montreal, then moved to the Bronx, then Brooklyn, Borough Park. Sally Kagan Stotsky Salamy passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015. She was 103 years old. Born in Poland Feb. 18, 1912, she came to the U.S. in 1923 at the age of 11. She gerw up in Bayonne, N.J., and was married to her first husband, Philip Kagan in 1933 at the age of 21. She and Philip had two daughters, Loretta and Annette. The marriage ended in 1946. (JTA)-Theodore Bikel, an actor and folk singer who was recognized in 1997 with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Foundation for Jewish Culture, has died at 91. Bikel, who won fame playing Tevye in "Fiddler on the Roof," doing more performances of the role than any other actor, died Tuesday morning of natural causes at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Stanley Carl Katz, age 78, of Orlando, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2015, at Consulate Health Care in Kissimmee. Mr. Katz, a Bronx, New York, native, was born on Oct. 2, 1936, to the late Hyman and Anna Tischler Katz. He was a U.S. Army veteran and owned a commercial window cleaning business.
